Summary
This report aims to emphasize competitive intelligence as an activity necessary for companies in the information technology industry. In a global aspect, the IT sector not only realizes rapid adaptation, but also manages to reach completely new levels in its business history. This sector has always been distinguished by its specific innovativeness (whether subversive or not), flexibility and high reactivity to new realities, and this is precisely what arouses research curiosity to what extent the IT business owes its favorability to methods such as competitive intelligence. The topic of the place of competitive intelligence in the information technology sector is not only relevant, but also still understudied (in contrast to the food, chemical and mining industries). The processes of continuous implementation of new products and services based on specific technologies require caution for companies in relation to their competitors, especially in market conditions of perfect competition. On the other hand, underestimating the integrated system of competitive intelligence (especially in the IT sector) would prove to be a disastrous mistake with losses in financial, intellectual and reputational dimensions, and such can remove even a stable economic player.
